Health Promotion Research Center
Iran University of Medical Sciences
Article 1 – Establishment
With the aim of expanding research and providing solutions in health and medical issues, and pursuant to the present Statutes, the Health Promotion Research Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) has been granted preliminary approval to pursue the objectives set forth below.
Article 2 – Objectives

The governing bodies of the Center shall consist of:
a. The Supreme Council
b. The Director of the Center
c. The Research Council of the Center
Article 4 – Members of the Supreme Council
The Supreme Council shall comprise:

The duties of the Supreme Council are as follows:
Note: All resolutions of the Supreme Council shall be aligned with national policies and coordinated with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
Article 6 – Appointment of the Director
The Director of the Center shall be appointed for a four-year term upon nomination by the Supreme Council and by decree of the President of the University. Reappointment is permissible.
Article 7 – Duties of the Director
The Director is the highest executive authority of the Center and shall act, within the framework of legal regulations and resolutions of the Supreme Council, to implement assigned duties and manage the Center’s affairs.
Article 8 – Membership
The Center shall have two categories of members:
a. Core Members: Full-time faculty members and experts of the Center.
b. Affiliated Members: Faculty members of other departments of the University or of other universities and higher education institutions.
Article 9 – Financial Resources
The financial resources of the Center shall include:
a. Revenues generated from the Center’s services in accordance with applicable regulations.
b. Donations and contributions from natural and legal individuals.
c. Governmental funds, if allocated.
In accordance with the resolution adopted at the 257th session of the Council for the Expansion of Medical Sciences Universities dated December 19, 1980 (28/09/1359), this Statute, consisting of nine Articles and one Note, were approved.
It is self-evident that, pursuant to the Executive Guidelines for the Establishment and Evaluation of Medical Sciences Research Centers (Public and Non-Public), approved at the 197th session of the Council for the Expansion of Medical Sciences Universities dated August 22, 2009 (31/05/1388), should the Center fail to obtain final approval within the prescribed timeframe, this Statute shall become null and void.
